Maple is now ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
27 July 2026
We're pleased to announce that Maple Technology has achieved two significant industry accreditations: ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Both are independently verified. Both required us to be assessed against strict, external standards, not simply to declare ourselves compliant. And both confirm something our clients already know from working with us: security isn't an afterthought at Maple, it's built into how we operate day to day.
For a business providing IT support in London to financial services and professional firms, this matters more than most. Our clients operate in regulated, high-scrutiny environments, and increasingly, their own clients and regulators expect them to know exactly how their data is handled and by whom. An IT partner is part of that chain. We wanted to be able to prove our own house is in order, not just say so.
What we achieved
- ISO 27001 - the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems. It covers how an organisation identifies risk, protects data, manages access, and continually reviews and improves its security practices over time. It's as much about process and governance as it is about technology.
- Cyber Essentials Plus - the UK government-backed certification that goes a step further than the base Cyber Essentials scheme, with independent technical testing of systems, devices, and controls rather than self-assessment alone.
Together, they cover both ends of the spectrum: the strategic, organisation-wide management of risk, and the technical, hands-on verification that our defences actually work as intended.
Why we did this
We didn't pursue these accreditations because a client asked us to, although a number of them will be glad we did. We pursued them because if we're advising other businesses on how to manage cybersecurity and risk, we should be able to stand behind our own.
The process also did something valuable internally. It gave us the opportunity to formally document and evidence a lot of practices that were already part of how we work, and to tighten up others. Accreditation isn't a box-ticking exercise if it's done properly, and we didn't treat it as one.
Why it matters to you
If Maple manages your IT, these accreditations aren't just certificates on a wall. They mean the way we handle access, data, incidents, and risk has been independently checked, and that we're committed to maintaining that standard on an ongoing basis, not just at the point of assessment.
Over the coming week, we'll be publishing more detail on what each accreditation actually covers, what it changes for how we work with clients, and why we'd encourage any business to look for these credentials when choosing an IT support partner.
